Our Philosophy

About Alyssa
Founder of Dopamine Spaces

Founded by Alyssa Jacoby, Dopamine Spaces is a Toronto-based interior decorating and creative consulting studio. Known for crafting bold, intelligent, and deeply considered environments across residential, commercial, and event spaces. Her work blurs the lines between art, design and fashion, grounded in a belief that creativity is as the core.

Guided by a fearless and provocative spirit, the studio approaches each project as its own ecosystem: a place defined by curiosity, collaboration, and an unrelenting pursuit of beauty that serves function.

Essence

Your space should reflect who you are when no one is watching, playful, raw, radiant, and real.

I believe that true design is the practice of setting boundaries: intentionally curating what you allow into your physical and emotional sanctuary to ensure you remain whole. When we create a conscious home, we begin to heal—and from that healing, we show up in the world as more vibrant versions of ourselves.

Background

Before Dopamine Spaces was a studio, it was a feeling — a spark in my chest every time I saw a funky lamp, a marble slab with soul, or a thrifted treasure that whispered someone’s story.

I began in the world of marble — working with Toronto’s iconic Marble & Marble, where I learned the language of stone and the power of permanence. I styled alongside TV design personality Evelyn Eshun, with projects featured in editorial spreads that celebrated beauty and form.

But my real education came from the streets, from nature, and from community , biking through Toronto, dancing in community, creating art, and building spaces for connection. There, I discovered that radical self-expression is sacred. That design isn’t just visual , it’s visceral. It’s how we care for ourselves and each other.

Dopamine Spaces is my rebellion against beige. It’s where color becomes a tool for healing, and decorating becomes a ritual of remembering who you are.

Philosophy and Practice

I don’t  chase trends, I chase truth. Good design changes how you feel, how you move, and how you show up. I help you set boundaries against the noise of mass-production, choosing instead to honor the pieces that hold your personal history. I coax out the colors, memories, textures, and objects already inside you, translating them into layered, sensory interiors that invite play, calm the body, and celebrate the full spectrum of your humanity.
